They made a Regal GS with 270hp/295tq.
A Verano Trubo with 250hp/260tq.
You could get a manual in both of them. Now I want one, and do a track day in a Buick.

You can get a Regal GS for under $20k with the stick.

I’m on autotrader right now looking at them, and there are lots in the mid teens under 100,000kms.

For 2017 they discontinued the turbo Verano and killed the manual on the Regal GS.

Its shame, they seemed to handle really good and fly under the radar of enthusiasts.

My neighbour has a straight piped Insignia VXR which loves to fart and shoot fire. Needless to say the noises really don’t match up to the benign Vauxhall.

I still want a Cruze RS. An actual performance model, not just a body kit. Or a least make the steering on the regular Cruzes not feel like an RC car.

Buick discontinued the manual for 2016........

There was a dealership near my high school last year that had a Regal GS always there (I think someone there owned it), and I was surprised at how good it actually looks.

Not in Canada.

I agree. I have no idea why they restricted the 2.0T to the Verano. It’s the same platform.

I’ll just leave this here. And they took the 2.8 Turbo from the Regal/Insignia.

I know people will say “But itz not RWD! Itz not a true driver’s car!” but screw it, I want a Regal GS.

Love them both. The Verano is pretty much the successor to my Cobalt SS turbo. But both in stock form wouldn’t handle a track day well.

It be good for a few laps.

It is a good thing the pictured car is a “Trubo” Verano, then! :p

They have Hiper Struts, similar design to Ford RevoKnuckle used on the 2nd gen FoRS. Way better then McShit struts.

The Verano is based on the now previous generation Astra with an added boot/trunk. Which looks like it’s been slapped on. The hatchback and estate look much cleaner than the saloon.
I wonder what North America would of made of the three door Astra GTC VXR.

They still gain positive camber under bump travel. They still require massive amounts of static negative camber for decent grip on stickier than factory rubber.
Fancy struts are there to stop torque steer not address the fundamental geometric compromises.

My buddy has a GS and he loves it.. took to some track days as well, it’s pretty quick and definitely fun around the track (6 spd. as well)
